A New Year Note for the Woman Building With God 🤍

Happy New Year, sis ✨

I know your inbox is probably overflowing with New Year offers and your mind may already be bombarded with new goals, habits, and things you feel pressure to change. So I don’t want this email to be long, I simply hope it meets you with encouragement, peace, and a gentle reminder of what truly matters as we step into this new year together.

I want to share two charges God placed on my heart for 2026, and I believe they’ll be a blessing to you as well.

1. Strengthen yourself in the Lord.

In 1 Samuel 30, David was on the run for his life. Hiding in enemy territory, facing betrayal, loss, and the threat of being stoned by his own men. After returning home to find their wives, children, and possessions taken captive by the Amalekites, Scripture tells us in 1 Samuel 30:6b that “David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.”

This year, no matter where you find yourself; on the mountaintop because all is well, or in the valley because life is life'n, you and I, as women of God, must remember to strengthen ourselves in the Lord.

This looks like:

  • Spending intimate, unhurried time with Him in prayer
  • Rooting yourself in sound doctrine grounded in His Word
  • Staying connected to the assembly of other believers
  • Guarding your heart with the shield of faith through worship

Let Him be your source before you look to anything else.

2. Work with an eternal perspective (Colossians 3:23–24).

You’re likely here because you feel called to use your gifts to earn income, build something meaningful, and glorify God through your work. But as Christian women entrepreneurs (or aspiring ones), the grit of daily life can sometimes cause us to lose sight of why we started in the first place.

The pressure to make ends meet or see the vision come to pass can fog our true desire... to do it all unto the Lord.

Whether you’re building a business, working a job, managing a home, or raising children, I encourage you this year to ask:

  • Is this glorifying God?
  • Is this advancing His Kingdom?
  • Is this reflecting the love of Christ?

And when you sense your heart drifting, gently reset your mind on the things above, not on the things below.

A few resources for you 🤍

P.S. My new laptop is finally on its way (last email I shared how it crashed on me leaving me laptop less for a while), and I’m excited to get back on the mic with fresh episodes soon!

I’m praying God’s abundant grace, wisdom, and love over you in this new year.

With Love & Support,

Odaisha

Hey Reader, I want to start doing something a little different. Every now and then, I just want to share a quick devotional with you something simple, something real, something that meets you right where you are in your journey with God. So here goes: A New Definition of Success “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Romans 12:2 There are moments in this journey where things don’t look the way you expected them to. The progress feels slow. The...

Hey sis, Last week I celebrated my 31st birthday!!! I spent the day in the windy city of Chicago like a full tourist with my husband and baby girl. By 10am we were walking through the Chicago Zoo which is FREE by the way if you ever wanted to visit. My baby girl was in absolute awe. Every animal we passed got a big “Hiii!” a wave, or a loud “Wowww!” from her little voice. It was the sweetest thing to watch. By around 3pm we were in the heart of the city grabbing ramen, a rose shaped ice cream...

Hey sis, This has been one of the hardest financial seasons of my life. Not the kind you post about after it’s over. But the kind you walk through quietly. The kind where you are building what God told you to build… while wondering how you're going to pay your mortgage or car note. And in the middle of it, I felt the Lord gently correct something in my heart. Not my work ethic. Not my obedience. But my reliance. He brought me to Hebrews 13:5 and the phrase “be free from the love of money" has...
