Did we buy the right house? Here’s the real story…

Hey Sis ,

This month marks 1 year of me being a landlord! 🙌

Now that our beloved tenant is moving out, my husband and I were left staring down some tough decisions…
A new mortgage payment (due property tax increase, ugh!!), a soon-to-be empty unit, all the “extras” that come with homeownership, and so much more!!!!

I’ll be honest — it made us stop and ask… Did we buy the right property?

But here’s what I remembered:

  • When our city flooded over the weekend, our neighborhood was one of the few untouched.(ONLY by the grace of God)
  • Our lawn maintenance cost? Nonexistent… because our sweet elderly neighbor, Mr. Dave, insists on mowing both the front and back yard for us.
  • And now, thanks to our realtor, we’ve been presented with options to maximize the soon-to-be vacant unit.

All of that leaves us with a resounding YES — we did buy right. But not without some guidance, prayer, and education.

Sis, maybe you’re dreaming of buying real estate — whether it’s your first home or an investment property — but it feels out of reach.

That’s exactly how I felt a few years ago… until God opened the door and connected me with Karli, the agent who walked my husband and I through the entire process.

Karli isn’t just a top-producing first-time homebuyer agent — she’s also a dear friend and sister in Christ, who came on the podcast this week spilling the real tea on what no one tells you about buying real estate.

In this episode, we talk about:

  • Step-by-step what happens in the home buying process
  • House hacking and using a duplex to cover your mortgage
  • Down payment assistance (yes, even if you think you don’t qualify)
  • The faith, patience, and strategy needed to invest God’s way

If you’ve ever felt like real estate is out of reach, this conversation will encourage you, equip you, and remind you that God’s timing is perfect.

Listen now and let’s dream bigger together.

P.S. If you know a sister who’s thinking about buying property, send her this episode. You might be planting the seed that changes her financial future.

Tune in below.

Hey Reader, It’s 4:28 a.m., my heart heavy and filled with urgency as I write this to you. I was in the middle of editing another newsletter when I stopped to read an article that said, “The Supreme Court temporarily freezes order requiring our current administration to provide full SNAP payments.” Now, I’m not one who’s into politics or much controversial talk, but when I read this, my heart was burdened. Isaiah 1:17 states, “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the...

Hey Reader, I was sitting with God the other day… not journaling, not planning… just sitting. And I started thinking about how easy it is to say we're building a God-centered business, but if we're honest? Sometimes we're just asking Him to sprinkle favor on the plans we already made. That thought checked me. Like, Odaisha… who’s really leading this thing? So I opened my Bible, landed in Matthew 7, and it felt like God gave me a fresh blueprint, not a complicated system, not another to-do...

Hey Reader, You ever felt that tugging from God, like He’s asking you to move, do something, or shift… but you’re not exactly sure what it is? I just came off such a high two weekends ago — we christened our beautiful baby girl 💕. Family came through, love filled the house, and my heart was so full. Family photoshoot after the Christening Then came Monday. I’ve been working on a particular project in my real estate company that’s been leaving me perplexed, a little anxious, a little unsure of...
