Sis, don’t forget WHY you started

Hey Reader,

How are you? It’s been a while since I’ve shown up in your inbox, and life has been a little wild over here.

My husband, baby, and I took a 14-hour drive from Milwaukee to New York to spend time with family. Our two-week trip somehow turned into almost a month!! And we’re squeezing in a Maryland stop to see one of my best friends.

With all of that, I’ve been working part-time for a well-known ministry leader and continuing to build out this real estate program God put on my heart a few years ago.

And then, right in the middle of everything, both my laptops failed on me. One crashed completely, and the backup was moving so slow it was basically unusable. Work got backed up, I couldn’t record any podcast episodes, and the overwhelm started creeping in. If I’m honest, it wasn’t the laptop that broke me, it was the pressure behind it. The expectations I had for where I thought I’d be by now. The feeling of losing momentum. The frustration that made me ask myself, “Is any of this even working?”

Somewhere in the middle of motherhood, travel, working part-time, and building this huge project, I realized something:

I had forgotten my WHY.

I forgot that I set out to build a highly profitable, highly impactful, simple-to-manage business so I could have the flexibility to do what God called me to in ministry, in the marketplace, and in my home.

And the funny part? Even without the millions in the bank … I’m actually living in a version of that prayer right now.

I also forgot that part of my why is YOU.

Encouraging women of faith to use their gifts, build something meaningful, contribute to their homes, and glorify God in the process.

But life has a way of distracting us, doesn’t it? We start off full of faith and vision… and then when things don’t happen at the speed or in the way we imagined, we start questioning everything. We start shrinking back. We start forgetting the very thing we prayed for.

So I had to slow down and ask myself the real questions:

Why did I start this? What did God say? What am I believing Him for? And where have I forgotten that He is still faithful?

And sis, I want you to ask yourself the same.

Because here’s the truth: So many of the things you prayed for are already in motion. The progress might feel slow, but it’s real. And just because it doesn’t look the way you pictured it doesn’t mean God isn’t moving.

If you’ve been feeling discouraged, overwhelmed, or ready to walk away from what God told you to do, pause for a second.

Reconnect with your why.

Look at how far you’ve actually come.

And remember that faith was never about everything going your way.

Faith is about believing that God is faithful, even in the parts of the story that don’t make sense yet.

And sis… if you’re realizing your WHY needs some clarity or a refresh, I got you. Start with this episode: “How to Create a Personal Why That Fuels Your Business Motivation (Even in Tough Times).”

And if you just need a little encouragement to keep going in business, this episode will meet you right where you are: “Feeling Discouraged in Business? Listen to This.

You’re not behind. You’re not forgotten.

And you’re a lot closer to breakthrough than you think. I’m praying for you!

With Love & Support,

Odaisha

Hey Reader, Last week, I had my very first board meeting for the organization God called me to build. The vision, the work, the plan that had been in my heart since 2020 was laid bare ... vulnerable and open, as I presented everything from who we serve, what we do, how we do it, and our next-year goals, all the way to our 2–5 year projections and even our 10–15 year roadmap. This wasn’t just a celebration moment though. It was a decision-making meeting. The kind where people break into rooms,...

Happy New Year, sis ✨ I know your inbox is probably overflowing with New Year offers and your mind may already be bombarded with new goals, habits, and things you feel pressure to change. So I don’t want this email to be long, I simply hope it meets you with encouragement, peace, and a gentle reminder of what truly matters as we step into this new year together. I want to share two charges God placed on my heart for 2026, and I believe they’ll be a blessing to you as well. 1. Strengthen...

Hey Reader, It’s 4:28 a.m., my heart heavy and filled with urgency as I write this to you. I was in the middle of editing another newsletter when I stopped to read an article that said, “The Supreme Court temporarily freezes order requiring our current administration to provide full SNAP payments.” Now, I’m not one who’s into politics or much controversial talk, but when I read this, my heart was burdened. Isaiah 1:17 states, “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the...
