Hey Reader, Last week, I had my very first board meeting for the organization God called me to build. The vision, the work, the plan that had been in my heart since 2020 was laid bare ... vulnerable and open, as I presented everything from who we serve, what we do, how we do it, and our next-year goals, all the way to our 2–5 year projections and even our 10–15 year roadmap. This wasn’t just a celebration moment though. It was a decision-making meeting. The kind where people break into rooms, ask tough questions, challenge what you’ve built, and look for the gaps. And in the middle of all that, it hit me so clearly: I am no longer the sole decision-maker here. This really isn’t mine. This is God’s. As Christian women in business, it’s so easy to carry our dreams and visions like we’re the ones responsible for making them happen. We plan, strategize, push, and lead as if it’s all on our shoulders. And sometimes, without realizing it, we forget that what we’re building didn’t start with us, it started with God! In John chapter 5, Jesus had just healed a man on the Sabbath, and the Jewish leaders were furious. They were angry not only because He healed on the Sabbath, but because He was making Himself equal with God. It was in this scene where Jesus said, “I can do nothing on my own initiative. As I hear, I judge... because I do not seek my own will, but the will of Him who sent me” (John 5:30 NASB). What Jesus was saying is that even He didn’t act on His own. He listened first. He followed the Father's lead. He didn’t just move because something made sense, He moved because it was aligned with the will of the One who sent Him. That same posture, that same dependence and deep trust in the Father’s will, is how we are called to build. That’s how we are called to lead, not out of pressure or performance, but from a place of surrender. One verse I’ve been meditating on lately is Proverbs 16:3: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” Not just mentioning our plans in prayer and then going back to doing things our way, but truly entrusting them to Him, letting Him take the lead, and trusting that He will establish what He authored. And sis, I know surrender doesn’t always look glamorous. Sometimes it means choosing obedience over opportunity. It means saying no to things that seem good because they’re not God. It means trusting His pace, even when it feels slow. But I promise you, there’s peace in letting go. There’s clarity in the quiet. And there’s power in remembering that the weight of the vision isn’t yours to carry alone. So as you build this year: whether it’s a business, a ministry, a family, or simply a better version of yourself, I want to remind you that God sees it all. And He hasn’t asked you to do it in your own strength. Let Him lead. Let Him carry it. Let Him establish the plan. Now for a little life update…💗 In just one week, I’ll be celebrating one full year of motherhood. I can hardly believe it. Being a mom has truly been one of the greatest gifts of my life. But I’d be lying if I said it’s been easy navigating both motherhood and entrepreneurship. There have been challenges I didn’t see coming, lessons I’m still learning, and moments that have stretched me in every way. I’ve been thinking about doing a podcast episode to share some of those lessons—what it really looks like to pursue purpose while nurturing a baby. We’ll see if I can get a moment of quiet long enough to record! 💗 Also, I’ve been building out the real estate vision God placed on my heart. The organization is called Neighborhood Eden, and we’re a housing connector agency serving the affordable housing community. We walk alongside Section 8 voucher holders, landlords, and case managers to help them navigate the full housing process. It’s big, it’s bold, and it’s definitely God. Pray with me as we continue to build. 💗 And finally ... I got a new laptop. I’ve got everything I need to get back on the mic… now I just need to sit down and hit record. Hold me accountable? As always, I’m grateful to be on this journey with you. Let’s keep building what God gave us! With open hands, surrendered hearts, and the kind of faith that keeps showing up, even when the path feels uncertain. Happy New Year, sis ✨ I know your inbox is probably overflowing with New Year offers and your mind may already be bombarded with new goals, habits, and things you feel pressure to change. So I don’t want this email to be long, I simply hope it meets you with encouragement, peace, and a gentle reminder of what truly matters as we step into this new year together. Hey Reader, How are you? It’s been a while since I’ve shown up in your inbox, and life has been a little wild over here. My husband, baby, and I took a 14-hour drive from Milwaukee to New York to spend time with family. Our two-week trip somehow turned into almost a month!! And we’re squeezing in a Maryland stop to see one of my best friends. With all of that, I’ve been working part-time for a well-known ministry leader and continuing to build out this real estate program God put on my heart...
Hey Reader, It’s 4:28 a.m., my heart heavy and filled with urgency as I write this to you. I was in the middle of editing another newsletter when I stopped to read an article that said, “The Supreme Court temporarily freezes order requiring our current administration to provide full SNAP payments.” Now, I’m not one who’s into politics or much controversial talk, but when I read this, my heart was burdened. Isaiah 1:17 states, “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the...
