NOW is the time to do what God is calling you to do

Hey Reader,

It’s 4:28 a.m., my heart heavy and filled with urgency as I write this to you. I was in the middle of editing another newsletter when I stopped to read an article that said, “The Supreme Court temporarily freezes order requiring our current administration to provide full SNAP payments.”

Now, I’m not one who’s into politics or much controversial talk, but when I read this, my heart was burdened.

Isaiah 1:17 states, “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” Throughout Scripture, we see the call and command to take action in social causes.

And God has given many of us a call, a burden, and a command on how to do so. God has called many of you in this virtual community to start businesses that will provide relief, care, support, and help in social causes. He has gifted many of you (myself included) with ideas and programs that will advocate for “the least of these.”

Some of you are called to wealth management—teaching people about assets, estate planning, and life insurance so they won’t be stuck in financial bondage.

Some of you are called to the mental health space—helping those with trauma process pain, chemical imbalances, and threats toward themselves and others.

Some of you are called to the affordable housing space—to help combat homelessness and hunger.

Some of you, God has placed on your heart simply to host an event that will have lasting impact on your community.

But what are you doing?

Scrolling on social media.
Being bogged down with fear, confusion, and doubt.
Considering only yourself.
Stuck in information and analysis paralysis.
Tied up in foolish talk and gossip.
Petting your sin.

Sis, I love you. That’s why I have to say this exactly how it’s coming out. It’s time to do what God has called and asked you to do. More than ever, it’s time to be obedient and get in position.

Now, this is not a push for you to move ahead of God or launch out without clarity, resources, or covering. For you, this could look like simply writing the vision down and planning it through a business plan. It could mean getting the LLC or validating the idea. It could mean starting to collect items for the event or maybe it’s time to launch out. I don’t know. That’s between you and God.

But there is a thick atmosphere right now, one declaring that now is the time to get in position and do what God has called you to do.

A whole nation and surrounding nations were saved because Joseph was in position and did exactly what God commanded him to do (Genesis 47).

Rain came to a barren land because Elijah was in position; the position of prayer (1 Kings 18:41–46).

Sis, let this be a reminder that the days are growing more evil, and God is looking for a generation of people who will unapologetically do His will. Will you be one of them?

And If you find yourself discouraged during this government shutdown, listen to this episode: “Encouragement in a Government Shutdown: How to Stand Strong and Thrive.”

Stay rooted. Stay ready. Stay in position.

With love and conviction,

Odaisha

Hey Reader, Last week, I had my very first board meeting for the organization God called me to build. The vision, the work, the plan that had been in my heart since 2020 was laid bare ... vulnerable and open, as I presented everything from who we serve, what we do, how we do it, and our next-year goals, all the way to our 2–5 year projections and even our 10–15 year roadmap. This wasn’t just a celebration moment though. It was a decision-making meeting. The kind where people break into rooms,...

Happy New Year, sis ✨ I know your inbox is probably overflowing with New Year offers and your mind may already be bombarded with new goals, habits, and things you feel pressure to change. So I don’t want this email to be long, I simply hope it meets you with encouragement, peace, and a gentle reminder of what truly matters as we step into this new year together. I want to share two charges God placed on my heart for 2026, and I believe they’ll be a blessing to you as well. 1. Strengthen...

Hey Reader, How are you? It’s been a while since I’ve shown up in your inbox, and life has been a little wild over here. My husband, baby, and I took a 14-hour drive from Milwaukee to New York to spend time with family. Our two-week trip somehow turned into almost a month!! And we’re squeezing in a Maryland stop to see one of my best friends. With all of that, I’ve been working part-time for a well-known ministry leader and continuing to build out this real estate program God put on my heart...
